If your son would like to join Pack 890 for a party at Dallas Rocks (indoor climbing facility on Forest Lane) probably in the summer, we need your help in selling 890 Scout Show cards for our Pack.  Yes, that's eight hundred and ninety cards for obvious reasons.  If our Pack reaches this goal, ALL boys will be invited to the party.  Boys will not be required to sell any cards, but will be encouraged to do so as a group effort.  If each registered Cub Scout in our Pack sells 17 cards, we can reach our goal.  Each boy who sells 17 cards will, in addition to any prize offered by the Council, receive a brand new Pack 890 ballcap. 

Our March Pack Meeting will be held on the fourth Thursday, March 23rd, at 7 pm at LHUMC.  For this meeting, all boys in Den 8 -- the Webelos II den -- who have completed the requirements for Arrow of Light will be awarded the highest rank in Cub Scouts.  Our local Order of the Arrow team (Boy Scouts in Native American regalia) will perform the ceremony.  Immediately following the Arrow of Light ceremony, we will have the "Crossover" ceremony for these boys to graduate from Cub Scouts and join a Boy Scout Troop.  Please join us to recognize these boys and parents and to bid them farewell.  This will also be the last P890 function for outgoing leaders Wendy Griffin and Candi Barrett.  We will also need your help in properly thanking them.

The Pinewood Derby went off without a hitch and everyone had a great time racing their creations.  Thanks to the following Den 6 families who assisted:  Murdock, Read, Smith, Swift, Waterman, & Woodward.  Special thanks to Janet Schmelling who designed and created all the medals.

Thanks to all of you who participated in Scouting for Food 2010.  We collected 1,792 canned goods and other food items and logged 231.5 man hours of community service.  Participation by boys and adults was excellent.  Our Scouts have made a real difference in the lives of many hungry families in Dallas County.  From your Service Chair and Pack Committee -- thanks!
